With a view to upgrading its logistic services, Movest S.p.A. is setting-up a branch office and associated warehouses close to the Alpe Adria Interport in Cervignano del Friuli. The new structure will include a 480 sq.m. office building, 1,500 sq.m. of warehouses and an 8,000 sq.m yard.
The new office will be located on Venice-Trieste high road n° 14, near the junction of the new A4 slip road.

In August 2005, the Board of Interporto Alpe Adria S.p.A. approved a European tender with restricted procedure to assign the management of the whole structure to a private subject. Bids must e sent in by December 2005.

Implementation of "phase 1" of the Interport in Cervignano is almost complete. The interport consists of 200,000 sq.m. of interchange yard with three 750 m track groups, 12,000 sq.m of warehouses and 2,500 sq.m of office building. The building company envisages this stage of the works by December 2005. In the same month the tender for the second 12,000 sq.m. warehouse will be awarded.

The "express cargo train" provided by Trenitalia with daily departures from the Cervignano Interport to Novara and vice versa is increasing the percentage of wagons available, especially as regards the 13.60 m "swap body" containers. The service transfers the palletized cargo between the two terminals and distributes it in the surrounding areas.
